Direct shipping services between Ranong, Chittagong Ports Underscored

Tarin Islam :   A new direction is opening in the maritime business. The members of ChittagongPort officials and Ranong Port of Thailand highlighted to the necessity of direct shipping between the two communities. An agreement paper has been signed by two government for coastal shipping which was just like the Myanmar has signed recently with Bangladesh

Sub Lt Cherdsak Jampathes, the Governor of Ranong province of Thailand delivered his views in the Chittagong port during the official visit.

The Ranong port delegators told that the two countries are developing the business affair. To keep warm this relation they can sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

Md Nazrul Islam, the acting chairman of Chittagong Port Authority and other officials hold a meeting with the Thailand delegators on 19 May, 2014.

Acting Secretary of the CPA Omar Faruque said the delegation comprises the officials of the RanongPort and Ranong Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries.

CPA Member (harbour and marine) Commodore M Shahjahan presented the activities of the ChittagongPort. The activities of the RanongPort were presented by Jashim U Ahmed, the Commercial Advisor of Thailand.

The meeting was participated by honorary consul general of Thailand Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury, deputy governor of Ranong province Mr Rangsan Tonmchaoen and others on behalf of Thailand.
