PM informs nation after her Japan visit
The tour has added a new dimension to the existing good relations between Dhaka and Tokyo, report agencies.
The government of Japan has pledged to provide allout cooperation and assistance for the socioeconomic development of Bangladesh.
Tokyo committed to providing six billion US dollars as financial assistance withch would be utilised for the socioeconomic uplift of the countty in next 4-5 years.
Agreed to establish a “comprehensive partnership” deepening the lilateral ties.
Japan government has agreed to be involved in some very important and big projects, including the seting up of big power plants in Bangladesh. (1300-MW ultra critical coal-fired nw power plant at Matarbari of Moheshkhali in Cox’s Bazar).
Japan also reaffirmed its support to establish a peaceBuilding centre in Bangladesh as a symbol of the tow countries’ cooperation in UN peacekeeping and peace building efforts.
Also agreed to extend reciprocal visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders of both countries.
