The country’s first maritime newspaper inaugurated by Information Minister
Bangladesh Online Media Association observed World Press Freedom Day-2014, in National Press Club, VIP lounge on 3rd May, 2014 at 4.00 pm. The main theme of this discussion was ‘MEDIA FREEDOM FOR A BETTER FUTURE: SHAPING THE POST-2015 DEVELOPMENT AGENDA’ and gave an award for the honor of Special Journalism. Hasan-Ul-Hoque Enu (MP), Minister of Information, People’s Republic of Bangladesh was appeared as chief guest and Special guest was Kamal Uddin Sabuj, President of National Press Club and others. The Information Minister Inaugurated the first monthly maritime newspaper ‘Bay Trade Express’ of the country.
The key speaker was the famous Journalist and Editor, Amader Orthoniti Mr. Naimul Islam Khan and IT specialist Mr. Mostofa Jabbar. An article on behalf of BOMA was presented by Mr. Soumitra Dev. The analytical speech on UNESCO agenda was delivered by Capt. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Editor of Bay Trade Express and Vice President of BOMA. Besides, the Bay Trade Express achieved the special journalism award as the first maritime related newspaper of the country from Bangladesh Online Media Association (BOMA). The award was received by the Editor on behalf of Bay Trade Express. Among others Late ABM Musa, Naimul Islam Khan and Mostafa Jabbar also recived the award.
